Advanced Technology

We use the latest in dental technology to easily diagnose and treat our patients. Here you can learn about each technology we use in our office below:

You or your family member can relax in the chair while your Frisco Dental Professionals care provider moves the small scanning wand around your mouth.

The small scanning unit combines laser and LED light to scan and record 3D images of your teeth and soft tissues. The iTero intraoral scanner captures 6,000 incredibly detailed and accurate images per second, which means that your whole mouth scan is complete in a matter of minutes.

In about a minute you can view the impression of you or your child’s mouth on a nearby screen, allowing for participation in the process and to gain a greater understanding of the orthodontic adjustments or appliances that are planned. The 100% digital impression is then forwarded to our dental laboratory, where custom Invisalign trays or other orthodontic appliances are made to exact specifications, ensuring a perfect fit and great results!

This high-end scanner provides us with a technology with which we can take x-ray images of the teeth, gums, jaw, sinuses, and facial surface. It offers quick treatment and less radiation than a medical CT scan. We use this scanner to analyze the TMJ, and view impacted teeth.

Compared to traditional x-rays, digital x-rays use 80% less radiation. Additionally, exposure to x-rays is cut by 90 percent. They create a clear picture of the entire mouth so we can easily diagnose dental problems. During treatment, we place a small sensor in the mouth. This sensor is connected to a computer. Then, the x-ray is sent through the sensor to record an image of the mouth. Digital x-rays create large, color-enhanced images.

Intraoral cameras are small handheld cameras that we use to show the patient their smile in real-time. This tool is valuable in patient education so we can show patients areas of the smile that require treatment.

We use a cavitron at regular dental cleanings. This tool uses high-frequency sound waves to clean the teeth and gums. The cavitron easily and comfortably removes plaque and tartar from the mouth.
