Why do veneers keep coming off from my tooth. It’s always the same veneer, all other veneers are OK?

Here are some possible explanations:
1. Issues with Bonding:
  • Improper preparation: The surface of your tooth might not have been adequately prepared for the bonding agent, resulting in a weak adhesion.
  • Contamination: Saliva or other contaminants on the tooth during bonding can compromise the adhesion.
  • Incorrect bonding technique: The dentist might not have applied the bonding agent or veneer properly.
2. Bite forces:
  • Excessive pressure: If you grind your teeth or have a misaligned bite, the increased pressure on the veneer might be causing it to come loose.
  • Trauma: Biting on hard objects or experiencing a strong impact to the tooth can damage the veneer or its bond.
3. Underlying tooth issues:
  • Decay: Cavities beneath the veneer can weaken the tooth and jeopardize the bond.
  • Cracks: If your tooth has a pre-existing crack, it can expand under pressure and loosen the veneer.
4. Material or manufacturing issues:
  • Faulty veneer: In rare cases, the veneer itself might be defective or incompatible with your tooth.
Here's what to do:
  • Schedule an appointment with your dentist: They can examine the tooth, identify the cause of the issue, and recommend appropriate treatment.
  • Be honest about your oral habits: Inform your dentist about any teeth grinding, hard object biting, or other relevant habits that might be contributing to the problem.
  • Discuss treatment options: Depending on the diagnosis, your dentist might suggest re-bonding the veneer, replacing it with a new one, or addressing any underlying tooth issues.

Remember: It's important to avoid trying to re-attach the veneer yourself or using any over-the-counter adhesives. These interventions can worsen the situation and make proper treatment more difficult.

I hope this information helps! Please prioritize visiting your dentist to get a professional diagnosis and address this issue effectively.
